Homeownership rates in neighborhoods can be a hotly-contested issue. When the topic became hotly debated in Baltimore in 2020, many people used BNIA data to "prove" their commmunity does or does not have the right level of homeownership.
But what the data really show is that there is no ideal rate. Every community needs to continuously create pathways to enable homeownership for all residents over time. BNIA prepared a blog post to help communities with tactical solutions, which didn't necessarily reach everyone.
Pictures are worth a 1000 words as the saying goes. So MICA Design Storefront students, led by Professor Mikea Hugley, translated the blog post into easily digestable graphics to be shared on social media.
